With the creative theme “All is Possible,” FiveCurrents did the impossible and produced a world-class stadium show—in less than 50 days—for Abu Dhabi’s 44th National Day celebration. Telling a story from the ancient cultural traditions through to today’s modern day Emirati customs, the evening was a technical wonder: an incredible stadium spectacle with a global broadcast, an anamorphic projection system, a complete aerial system, a huge sand-dune stage and lift system, and even an eight-story tall live Ghaf tree.

As the first company to serve as the production company for the Ceremonies of back-to-back Olympic Games, FiveCurrents was delighted to be the driving force behind the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. By far the most complex and ambitious technical shows ever attempted, FiveCurrents designed the Ceremonies to tell the story of thousands of years of this culturally rich and diverse nation. We built a stadium-scale aerial system to fly ambitions as large as 20th Century Russia…and a few cows.

FiveCurrents created and produced the Ceremonies for Expo 2020 Dubai, welcoming the world to Dubai with the theme of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.” The spectacular Opening and Closing Ceremonies took audiences on a journey through the story of the human family and our planet, while exploring the Expo sub-themes of sustainability, mobility, and opportunity. The broadcast featured groundbreaking 4K augmented reality, enhancing the story into the digital realm.

Splendor merges tradition and innovation to create a riveting evening of song, dance, martial arts, and humor as it celebrates the wonders of the majestic Taihu Lake.
